Fiskars Soil Knife (Big Grip Multipurpose Planting tool)
I like this product because it's an inexpensive soil knife that works great.

If you’ve been using a trowel for weeding and planting, you have a treat in store. The Fiskars Soil Knife is an ergonomically-designed tool that will replace not only your trowel, but your dandelion fork, bulb planter and sometimes scissors as well.

The sharp, flat blade makes it easy to dig into hard soils with little effort, and the forked tip helps you get dandelions and other weeds with taproots out easily.

Planting annuals and bulbs becomes a matter of “stab, wiggle, drop”, as my friend Karl put it. You “stab” the soil knife into the soil, “wiggle” it back and forth to create a small hole for your bulb or baby plant, and “drop” it in, taking a moment to smooth the soil into place again.

For a comparison of this less-expensive Fiskars Soil Knife with the Stainless Steel Hori-Hori, check out my soil knife comparison review here.
